Lead Link and Rep Link are two connecting roles in Holacracy that bridge a circle to its parent. The Lead Link carries purpose, strategy, and priorities from the broader circle into the sub-circle. The Rep Link carries tensions, feedback, and operational reality from the sub-circle back out.
These roles solve a fundamental problem in nested structures: how to keep circles aligned without creating command-and-control dynamics. The two-way link creates a feedback loop where context flows down and reality flows up, preventing both micromanagement and isolation.
